What level of French do I need to have before booking an immersion stay?

If you're a beginner or intermediate still finding your footing in French, this program is perfect for you : the French Class Program (A1 to B2 Level)
If you are at an upper intermediate level or even comfortable with your French but still want to improve your listening and speaking skills, this is for you : The Cultural Program (B1 to C2 level)

If you are a complete beginner starting from scratch who wants to experience an authentic French immersion in a relaxed way, let me tailor a program for French culture lovers. You may need to take some advance if you really want to learn basic French during your stay.

What if I am too tired or frustrated to speak French ?

Accepted Answer

We can switch to English any time you want for a while and enjoy a fluent conversation together. My husband and son both speak English.

Question 3

How do I get to Nîmes ?

Accepted Answer

Nîmes is easy to reach with the TGV train from Paris in about 3 hours. Some lines also leaves from Charles De Gaulle airport and go straight to Nîmes. Please, make sure to arrive at Nîmes central station if you need a pick-up (ideally between 5 pm and 7 pm)

Montpellier is an hour drive from home. There is an airport where you can fly in.
Marseille airport is over 1.30 hour away from home. In both cases, it will be best to rent a car.

Do I need to rent a car ?

I will be driving you around during the planned excursions. However, if you’d like more independence during your free time, renting a car is a good idea.

Will I miss out on the “real French experience” if I stay in a small village instead of a city ?

Accepted Answer

Some of my former students had the same concerns, but none of them regretted joining my program ! First of all, our schedule is quite full — you really don’t have time to get bored  or feel you miss out on something !
Plus, we often spend time in lovely towns such as Uzès or Nîmes. And once back home, you will love being able to truly relax in the countryside, watching the sunset from the gîte terrace!

Can I bring my partner or a friend to the immersion stay without them attending the French class?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely ! In this case, your friend is "an extra guest". Whether they like hiking, cycling or swimming or just enjoying the view on the terrace, they can relax while we are in class. They can join us for the excursions and our meals even for breakfast.

How many students are there at the same time ?

Your immersion program is fully private but you can come as a group up to four people. Either to attend the workshops or only for excursions and meals. Check the rates in the rate section.

Why does the program start on Sunday ?

To manage my calendar efficiently, stays are typically scheduled from Sunday to Saturday. If you want to book a shorter stay starting or finishing on a different day, let's see how I can give you satisfaction.

Question 9

What is the number of guests you can host for an immersion stay?

Accepted Answer

Up to 4 people. The apartment features two double bedrooms, one of which can be turned into a twin bedroom.
I’ll tailor the experience to suit everyone’s needs.

Question 10

What if I have a special diet or allergies ?

Accepted Answer

In your immersion program, we share a few home meals. Please, let me know in advance if you have allergies or intolerances. I am happy to cook vegetarian meals which I often do for my family and I . However, I am unable to provide a vegan diet. 
If you have any allergies, please let me know what they are. We don't have cats (my husband is allergic !) but we do have a dog. Even though he is adorable, let me know if that's an issue for you.
